Clasp 1

Hemispherical piece with ring and button.  The opposite side of the button is edged, the whole clasp is decorated with floral- vegetal motifs. There is a first décor, consisting in six flowers with six petals, symmetrical posed toward the clasp’s longitudinal axis, three on the left side and three on the right side, with 0.5 cm between them.  The second décor, vegetal stylized, fills in the centre and is longitudinal oriented.  It is accurate manufactured. It has a pearly framing well preserved.  On the back side, the place where the two metal parts (broken now) have been welded can be noticed.  The piece is in good condition. Bronze. Welded.

Clasp 2

Disk-shaped clasp with central décor, composed from two circular disk-shaped identical pieces that differ through the button elements – hook (piece 1), missing, being cut and ring (piece 2), half broken, serrated edges. The centre of piece 1 is decorated with six perforated petals. This element is attached to the clasp with a rivet. This decorative element is missing at piece 2. On the edge a frame of incised lines can be noticed – reversed V-s – partially wiped, suggesting that the piece is older or more used.  The whole manufacturing is less meticulous.  Each piece has on its back two thin metal lamellas, welded on the edge, for fixing the ends of the belt.

Half disk-shaped with central décor.  Consists of two disk-shaped pieces, slightly leaf-shaped, identical, and differing just through the button elements – hook and ring – both welded after embossing.  The opposite of the button parts are edged.  The centre is decorated in relief with a flower/ rosette with nine petals, framed by a pearly circle.  The edges a decorated with a pearly frame.  Between the part in relief and the edges there is no décor.  On the back side, each of the two pieces has a metal wide lamella, welded on the edge, for fixing the ends of the belt. Meticulous manufactured. Good preserved. Silver coin. Welded, embossed.

Disk-shaped clasp with decoration on the whole surface. Consist from two circular pieces – disk-shaped, identical, differing just through the button elements – hook (broken) and ring.  The opposite toward the button parts are edged. The centre is in relief embossed, with a flower/ rosette with six petals. The edge is decorated with a pearly frame.  The part between the flower and the edge is divided into eight equal segments, each segment containing a five petal flower in an oval frame and in its middle each flower has a metal round ornament.  The button – ring is hidden by a small rosette metal plate, divided in six equal segments decorated with lines and dots.  On the back side, each piece has two thin metal lamellas, welded on the edge, for fixing the ends of the belt.  Poor preserved. Bronze. Welded, metal casting.

Disk-shaped clasp with decoration on the whole surface.

Hemispherical clasp with radial decoration – brace subtype.  Consists in two hemispherical identical pieces that differ just through the buttons – hook and ring.  On the opposite sides of the buttons there is an additional plate brace shaped with a spike, decorated with flower motifs.  In the centre there is a rosette decorated with lines and dots, divided in eight equal segments.  The edge as a frame is decorated with a pearly belt.  The centre is connected with the edge through six series of three lines each, united among them and parallel (a central pearly one), dividing the surface into 6 segments without any décor.  The button – ring is covered by a small rosette (1.5 diameter).  Its surface is also divided into eight equal segments through lines and dots; to be noticed the similarity between this plate and the central rosette.  On the back side, each of the two pieces has two thin metal lamellas, with welded margins, fixing the belt ends.  Well preserved. Bronze. Casted, welded.

Hemispheric clasp with the whole surface decorated.  Consists of two hemispheric identical pieces, which differ just through the buttons – hook and ring.  The opposite sides to the buttons are spikes.  The whole decoration is with flowers, groups of three flowers each (two of them can be identified as tulips) forming bouquets from the centre toward the opposite and lateral sides.  It’s possible that it represents a stylized tree of life motif.  The edge as a frame is with a pearly belt.  On the back side, each piece has a thin metal lamella, welded on the margins, fixing the belt ends.  Very well preserved. Bronze.  Casted, welded.

Disk-leaf shaped clasp with button-ring.  The opposite side of the button is a spike. The whole surface of the piece is decorated, careful manufactured, symmetrical. All the motifs are vegetal.  The central longitudinal axis is decorated with two bouquets, superimposed, each of them seems to begin in the other one; it’s possible that the flower near the button is a tulip.  The two bouquets consist of: a big flower on the central axis and two smaller flowers left – right, reaching piece’s margins, covering the whole surface.  The flowers have three petals each.  The two metal lamellas on the back part a missing, the place where they were welded can be seen.  A pearly frame is on the edge. Very good preserved.  Bronze. Casted, welded.

Clasp 8

Disk-shaped clasp with the whole surface decorated – subtype with braces.

Round-disk piece with button-ring.  The opposite part of the button has a supplementary piece of material, simple brace shaped, spiky ended and vegetal decorated.  A central small flower/rosette with six petals is framed by a 10 pearls circle, at 0.2 cm distance from the margins. Then, another circle from the margins, from 10 metal pearls, with 0.3 cm distance between them and at the same distance toward the first circle. Each metal pearl is surrounded by thin lines, less legible, possible representing a vegetal décor. The frame edge, also around the braces, is with a clear pearly belt decorated.  On the back side the metal lamella that locks the belt is missing, the place where it was welded is not visible. Well preserved. Bronze. Casted, welded.

Clasp (1/2) from bronze, perforated; the piece with hook is preserved, half broken.  The opposite part to the button is round three-petal shape, ended with a three teeth spike. Very careful manufactured. On the edge a perforated, stamped frame circles the décor.  Composed décor, consisting of holes with different forms, straight lines or curves; in the centre probably the décor represents a stylized two-headed eagle.  The starting point of the hook is decorated with a small five petals flower.  On the back side, the lamellas for fixing the belt ends are missing.   Well preserved. Casted, stamped.

Clasp 10

Disk-shaped clasp with central décor.  Circular piece with button – hook, welded.  All the piece is decorated; careful symmetrical manufactured, the whole décor is floral.  The piece is divided into two circular unequal parts, separated through a thin frame, currently blunt.  In the centre the floral décor consists of two concentrically rows of petals, the first one of eight small petals, and the second one of seven bigger petals; in the centre of the two concentrically rows there is a button.  From this element eight big petals are disposed toward the first frame, between the petals there are floral stylized elements.  The second decorated surface consists of twelve small six petals flowers and oval metal buttons.  The two metal lamellas on the back side of the clasp are missing, the place where they were welded is visible.  The edge is decorated with a small pearly frame.  Well preserved. Bronze. Casted, welded.

Disk-shaped clasp with the whole surface decorated.  Circular piece with button – ring (partially broken). The opposite part of the button is spiky, simple brace shape.  The whole surface of the clasp is decorated; well symmetrical manufactured.  The décor consists of series of six elements each, except the top of the brace, decorated with a metal button.  The central button is surrounded by a radial geometric decoration, continued with six rays with two dots each, dividing the surface in six equal parts. Each part has in the centre a small six petals flower/rosette, formed from six metal pearls.  On the back side there are two thin welded metal lamellas, for the belt closure.  The edge is marked by a small pearly frame, more visible next to the braces.  Bronze. Casted, welded.

Hemispherical clasp with central decoration – with braces.  Consist of two hemispherical identical pieces (the central part is flat), the buttons are missing (broken).  The opposite part to the button has an additional plate, simple brace shaped with a spiky end.   The décor covers 2/3 of the piece, 1/3 is not decorated.  The centre is in relief, was once coloured, 10 equal and symmetrical disposed radial lines, divide the surface.  The brace has a symmetrically arranged toward the axis décor, consisting of seven buttons, three bigger and four smaller ones.  The frame on the edge is not decorated.  On the back side, both pieces have preserved just one thin metal lamella, welded on the margins (the second one it is broken), for fixing the belt ends.  Poor preserved. Bronze. Casted, welded.

Clasp 15

Decorated disk-shaped clasp, consisting of two pieces. Piece 1 is a metal main disk, welded with a smaller disk through a small rod, fixing piece 2.  Piece 2 is formed from two equal metal disks.  The disk that is not used for belt’s closure has 5 perforations, used maybe for sewing the piece to the belt and the other disk has a slot, where the smaller disk of piece 1 should be introduced.  Piece 1 is decorated just with small punched circles, with the intention of creating a floral central motif on the main disk.   Piece 2 has on the edges a frame of small holes; the other disk is decorated with small punched circles as well. On the back side, each piece has a thin copper lamella, welded on the margins for belt’s closure.  Very well preserved. Bronze. Gluing, punching.

Clasp 16

Rectangular clasp with central décor.  Manufactured from common metal,  polished with brass, made of two identical rectangular pieces that differ through the elements button – hook (piece 1) and loop (piece 2), both missing.  The opposite to the buttons parts are missing. In the middle there is a rose with twelve petals in relief.  The whole surface is decorated, poor manufactured.  The central rose is framed by a rhomb, also framed by an oval, included in a geometrical shape identical with clasp’s shape.  The surface is decorated with various geometrical signs.  On the back side, the metal lamellas for belt’s closure are missing.  The belt can be sewed, on the edge of each part being two holes opposite to other symmetrical two ones, to serve this purpose.  Casted, punched, incision.

Rectangular clasp with perforated décor.  Made of perforated bronze, two identical rectangular pieces that differ through the elements button – hook (piece 1) and loop (piece 2), large sized compared with clasp’s dimension.  The opposite to the buttons parts make a three-petal assembly, the lateral ones are spiky and the central one is rounded.  The décor suggests a tree with a round crown.  On the back side, the metal lamellas for belt’s closure are missing.  Very well preserved.  Casted, punched.
